SAINT PHILIP PREPARATORY SCHOOL

Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Community of Saint Philip the Apostle Parish is holding their annual food drive this month. However, we are not collecting food per se, but accepting monetary donations, which will be used to purchase food gift cards so families can buy the types of food they enjoy. There is still time to make a donation. You may send your donation to the parish center or the school office.

Thanksgiving

Our school will celebrate Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 25th at the 9AM mass in St. Philip Church. All are welcome to worship with us, as we thank God for His many, many blessings. Class celebrations will follow. Please contact your child’s teacher if you are sending in any food for the children. Thanksgiving recess will begin the afternoon of Wednesday, November 25th and resume Monday, November 30th. Aftercare will be until 3:00 on Wednesday…lots of cooking to do!

Christmas Show

There was some confusion regarding the date of the show. The official date is Thursday, December 3rd. The performance for grades PK-3 will be at 9:30 AM on Thursday. Grades 4 – 8 will perform at 7:00 PM that evening. Refreshments will be served for the evening performance. Bring your cameras. No tickets to purchase, however, donations happily accepted at the door. Ho-ho-ho!

Zing

Our Kindergarten through grade 3 classes are participating in the Schoolwide Zing Program. Zing is a fantastic free technological resource that provides teachers, parents and students unlimited access to thousands of eBooks both in school and at home. It will provide rich texts, a wide variety of genres and interests, and books that are leveled for each student. Information will be given to each family at their Parent Teacher Conference.

enVisions

Our Math enVisions program for grades Kindergarten through grade 5 will be available for home/family use. Information regarding usernames and passwords will be given to you at your Parent Teacher Conference. This is a wonderful resource for parents. Please take advantage of this program.

Facebook

It has come to our attention that there is more than one Saint Philip Preparatory School Facebook account. Well, there is only one.  If you type in "Saint Philip Preparatory School," you will arrive at the original, the one and only.  Any other page is not ours and has not been given any authority to post information pertaining to our school.

Coats and Hats…etc.

It’s that time of year again. Fresh air and exercise are healthy for the children. Therefore, the children will go out everyday if the weather permits. Some days are rather chilly and your child may need more than just a sweater or sweatshirt. Please be mindful of the weather. All the children like to play outside, but they must be properly dressed to enjoy their playtime.

Please do not tell you child to "stay in for lunchtime recess."Everyone must go outside at lunchtime recess. If your child must stay indoors, we need a doctor’s note describing the need. Please address all notes to Nurse Denise.

You’re Late!

Late slips are recorded for those students who arrive late to school; and yes, that is on the school record. Middle School students will receive a detention when their tardy slips add to three (3). Disregard for school rules (multiple late slips) may result in suspension. Please arrive on time!!!

Good News!

If students have any news that that would like to share with our school community, please write it up and send it in. I will read the good news to our school at our morning assembly. We love hearing about how Saint Philip students are doing…out there!

"…in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
